Grandmom

Grandmom Erins Dream

My Grandmom Florence Weirman is one of the best Grandmoms in the whole wide world. For those of you have had the luxury of meeting her will have to agree that she has a wonderful sense of humor. Her understanding and acceptance of the world around her is stunning. At 91 years of age she can give you a run for your money on current events or even a good "zinger" to keep you on your toes!

I was lucky to spend a lot of time with my Grandmom throughout my life. She cared for my brother & I often during the times that my mom & dad were both at work. Her house in Schwenksville that is soon to be the site of Erin's Dream, was always another home to me and to all of my cousins. Looking back, we were all extremely lucky to have a creek to swim in, animals to care for & mostly just the opportunity to get as dirty as possible! I have a few favorite activities that Grandmom did with us when we were young. Two that stand out are that she would walk us up the road to watch the cows at milking time and the BEST was & still is swinging with her on the front porch swing.

Grandmom has been a part of many people's lives throughout her years. She was a wonderful seamstress and has made many people's wedding gowns, prom dresses & even uniforms for the majorettes at Perkiomen Valley High School! These days she is making new friends and memories at the Colonnade in Schwenksville. It is a great thing that while she can no longer manage to live in the farmhouse on her own, she is now living in the building that housed the high school where she graduated!
